Bar staff health study

24 Mar 2006

A major study - believed to be the largest of its kind in the world - will investigate the impact of Scotland's smoking ban on bar staff.

Scientists at Aberdeen University's Department of Environment and Occupational Medicine are to monitor 350 bar staff in different parts of the country for the next nine months after the ban comes into force on March 26.

NHS Scotland are financing the £140,000 study.
